David Hochman has been writing professionally since 1993. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Esquire, Forbes, Details, Food + Wine, Town & Country, Reader’s Digest, Playboy, Men’s Vogue, InStyle, Travel + Leisure, Fortune, TV Guide and elsewhere. A former senior staff writer at Entertainment Weekly, he writes primarily about entertainment, cultural trends, travel, parenting, technology and adventure.
In 2008, Simon & Schuster published his first children’s book, The Potty Train, which he co-wrote with his wife, Ruth Kennison.
In 2005, he co-wrote “Sly Moves,” a fitness book with Sylvester Stallone. The book reached #12 on The New York Times bestseller list.
In 2003, David started Upod, an online resource and community for freelancers.
He graduated from Vassar College, with a degree in English, and from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he was awarded the Pulitzer Traveling Fellowship. He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, started his career in Manhattan and now lives in Los Angeles with Ruth and their son, Sebastian.
