David Hochman has been writing professionally since pens and dot-matrix printers roamed the earth. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Esquire, Forbes, Details, The Huffington Post, Food + Wine, Town & Country, Reader’s Digest, Playboy, Daily Candy, InStyle, Travel + Leisure, Fortune, TV Guide and other publications now in heaven. A former senior staff writer at Entertainment Weekly, he writes primarily about entertainment, cultural trends, travel, parenting, technology, food and adventure.
In 2008, Simon & Schuster published his first children’s book, The Potty Train, which he co-wrote with his wife, Ruth Kennison.
He also ghostwrites books for famous people.
In 2003, David started Upod, an online resource and community for freelancers.
He graduated from Vassar, with a degree in English, and from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he was awarded the Pulitzer Traveling Fellowship. He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, started his career in Manhattan and now lives in Los Angeles with Ruth and their son, Sebastian.
David sometimes writes about himself in the third person.
